Diploma in Management and Leadership
The Diploma in Management and Leadership is designed for candidates who want to enter into more senior management and leadership positions in a wide range of organisations. It is also intended for experienced managers and/or leaders seeking a nationally/internationally recognised qualification.

How the course is delivered?
The Diploma is delivered via a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which provides access to case studies, learning materials and activities, presentations and web links. Online tutor support and guidance is provided throughout the course, where learners can interact with the tutors, get feedback on their progress and submit their work electronically. This helps you to build the relevant skills progressively, as you receive feedback and support from their tutor during this time. As the course is delivered online, this enables learners to study any time, any place through immediate access to VLE.
Assessment
A mixture of assessments will be used – formal reports, presentations, research project, and examinations based upon a previously seen case study.
Certification
This qualification is jointly certificated by SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) and CMI (Chartered Management Institute)
Opportunities for progression
The Diploma allows successful candidates to progress to higher education and/or professional qualifications.
Successful Diploma candidates with three years rounded management experience may be eligible for full membership of the CMI (Chartered Management Institute). CMI offers fast-track membership on the achievement of the HNC/Diploma in Management and Leadership, as well as free studying membership.
Entry requirements
- An appropriate level of skill in the English language. International learners will be required to have ILETS 5.5 or equivalent.
- Different combinations of relevant National Qualifications, Vocational Qualifications and equivalent qualifications from other awarding bodies may be acceptable, as would suitable industry standard qualifications at an appropriate level.
- Mature candidates with suitable work experience may be accepted for entry if they are likely to benefit from undertaking the qualification.
In addition, candidates should possess good communication and analytical skills, along with a desire to attain the professional and personal requirements of an operational or senior manager.
